Articles of Incorporation
ARTICLE I NAME
SECTION I The name of this organization shall be Sportcast USA, hereinafter referred to as "SPORTCASTUSA".
ARTICLE II OBJECTIVES
SECTION 1 The objective of SPORTCASTUSA shall be to promote and further the sport of surfcasting and tournament casting throughout the United States of America and its territories.
SECTION 2 SPORTCASTUSA shall act to promote and increase friendship and goodwill among surfcasters and long distance casters.
SECTION 3 SPORTCASTUSA shall promote and foster competition among the surfcasters and will attempt to further its' members knowledge in the safe conduct of the sport.
SECTION 4 SPORTCASTUSA shall guide, encourage and assist in the organization of casting clubs.
SECTION 5 SPORTCASTUSA shall attempt to standardize policies and rules for tournament casting. SPORTCASTUSA will conduct training programs for the purpose of improving casting techniques.
SECTION 6 SPORTCASTUSA shall be non-sectarian and free from any political affiliation.
SECTION 7 SPORTCASTUSA meetings shall be devoted to the business of the organization and to the furtherance of its objectives.
ARTICLE III MEMBERSHIP
SECTION 1 SPORTCASTUSA shall be composed of two (2) classes of membership - regular and honorary.
SECTION 2 Regular member is anyone who expresses an interest in surf or tournament casting and whose application for membership has been recommended by the membership committee.
SECTION 3 Honorary membership may be conferred, as a mark of respect and appreciation, on any individual who has rendered outstanding service to SPORTCASTUSA. Nomination may be proposed by any active member of SPORTCASTUSA. Approval requires a unanimous approval by the Board of Directors. Honorary membership shall not exceed a period of one year.
ARTICLE IV MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY
SECTION 1 Membership in SPORTCASTUSA shall be open to anyone of good moral character who has an interest in surf or tournament casting and who makes application for membership in accordance with this Constitution / Articles Of Incorporation and the By-Laws of the Organization.
SECTION 2 Membership in SPORTCASTUSA may be terminated by a majority of vote of the Board of Directors.
ARTICLE V BOARD OF DIRECTORS & OFFICERS
SECTION 1 The governing body of SPORTCASTUSA shall be the Board of Directors which shall consist of five (5) elected by the general membership at annual elections. Officers of SPORTCASTUSA will not serve on the Board of Directors.
All members of the Board of Directors will be elected by ballot of the general membership and serve on the board for a period of (three to five) years or until such time as their successors are elected and qualified. Membership shall be as follows:

SECTION 2 Officers of SPORTCASTUSA will serve for a term of three-years or until such time as their successors are elected and qualified. Officers shall not serve more than three consecutive terms.
SECTION 3 A quorum of the Board of Directors shall consist of (3) of its five (5) members. And must include at least a five year member or a four year member.
SECTION 4 Officers of SPORTCASTUSA shall consist of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.Officers shall be elected by ballot of the general membership and shall serve three years or until new officers are elected and qualified.

The President shall provide semi- annual financial statements to the board of directors and make the annual financial statement.
While not being required at all tournaments, the President is required to ensure a field marshal is present at tournaments.
SECTION 5 The Board of Directors shall meet annually, or when requested, and approved by the Board of Directors.
The following may make a request for a meeting of the Board of Directors: The President, Officers, or any member of the board when requested by one of its member.
Request for meeting of the Board of Directors must provide a statement of the purpose of the meeting, i.e. resolve issues or grievance or appeal Office decision.
All decision of the Board of Directors are final and must be followed.
ARTICLE VI COMMITTEES
SECTION 1 There shall be the following standing committees and such others as may be appointed from time to time:
Executive Committee
Membership Committee
Budget and Finance Committee
SECTION 2 The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. The President shall be Chairperson of the Executive Committee.
SECTION 3 The President shall appoint the Chairperson of the Membership and Budget and Finance Committees.
SECTION 4 The Committee Chairperson shall select their own committee members from among the general membership.
The President shall be an ex-official member of all committees.
SECTION 5 The President or Board of Directors may appoint special committees at any time.
SECTION 6 The Board of Directors may appoint or engage consulting, financial or legal representation when deemed necessary. The remuneration for such representation shall be fixed by the Board.
ARTICLE VII AMENDMENTS
SECTION 1 This constitution may be altered or amended by a vote of two-third (2/3) of the membership
